representatives from fonterra and doc are driving the delivery of this programme:

As the North Island Fonterra Project Manager I am responsible for the three North Island catchments – Hikurangi, Pῡkorokoro/Miranda and the Waikato Peat Lakes. Prior to joining the Living Water team at Fonterra I spent 27 years with the Department of Conservation in a wide variety of roles from Field Ranger to Area Manager. My experience includes biodiversity restoration, pest control, infrastructure project management,  and working with rural communities. I’m excited about the work we’re doing with Living Water, to demonstrate how dairying and caring for the environment can go hand in hand.

I am a DOC Biodiversity Ranger for the Kaipara catchment with a current focus on the Hikurangi sub-catchment. My role in Living Water involves identifying and managing projects that can support and ultimately benefit Northland’s biodiversity and water quality. I feel this can be achieved through sound science, stakeholder engagement and a hands-on approach. The collaborative direction taken by Fonterra and DOC is showing we can achieve more in conservation when we work together. I am very lucky and grateful to have the chance to work in New Zealand’s unique and treasured environments, and I look forward to continuing to work hard to conserve our land, water and species.
